I bought this tarp because of its color honestly. I was just looking for a standard tarp to tie over my tent in case of rain. I liked this one because it sort of makes the aesthetics better for others in the campground (yes, I do think about that kind of stuff!)

Anyway, I tied it down twice in the front, twice on the sides, and twice in the back of a three room tent. And lo and behold, it started raining. And raining. And raining. And the wind started gusting. And it started raining even harder. For three days.

Mother nature did her best but the grommets did not tear and the tent was bone dry on the inside. Water just rolled right off the sides of the tarp and onto the ground. This tarp did exactly what we asked it to do. And it looked kind of nice doing it. For the insanely cheap price you can't beat that! 5 stars.

Ordering and delivery from Amazon.com was fabulous as it always has been. And the product/material is similar to what I've gotten in the past at this price range. But the dimension and advertising are disingenuous. The advertising and description states without qualification a "18' x 24'" tarp. Period. But the product packaging (i.e. AFTER you receive the product) then states "18' x 24'"..... but then goes on to add in small print "Finish size: 17'2" x 23' 4". Clearly this is just misleading and not an acceptable practice. For one, if for some magical reason, it has to be this size, then they should disclose this fact on the web site.... that it, it is NOT an 18' x 24' tarp, but really a 17' x 23' tarp. On the other hand, something isn't quite adding up because the 18 foot dimension got "finished" down by 10 inches whereas the 24 foot dimension go finished down by only 8 inches; this increasingly smells like the company just trying to cut corners under the ruse of some finishing-waste. And obviously, they manufacturer could cut the raw material by say 19' x 25', and then finish it in to the 18' x 24' tarp that is represented. In my particular case, I indeed needed, 18' not 17', so this proved to be a disappointment. Net, the advertisement of this product seems to fall short of the standards of Amazon.com.

The actual size of the product is six inches shorter than stated. I ordered the 6'x8' tarp. However, the actual size is 5'6"x7'6". I will be returning it because it is too small.
